What is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a safe, effective and progressively permanent method of removing unwanted hair and the only medically and scientifically proven means to remove hair permanently. When it comes to your search for a permanent hair removal solution, electrolysis is the answer. In fact, it’s the only answer.
With hair removal alternatives such as IPL, you’ll find yourself forever waxing the hairs you can’t get rid of. Electrolysis, on the other hand, will result in no future waxing required, as the only method of removing unwanted hair – permanently!
This treatment is now available at Beauty at Ab Fab and performed by our experienced and trained Electrologist, using our Sterex Epilator & Diathermy machine.
A tiny probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a small amount of electrical energy is discharged which destroys the hair growth tissue, and a single-use, sterile, disposable needle is provided for every treatment. Unlike IPL, Electrolysis can permanently remove white hair, red hair and blonde hair.
Electrolysis treatments can take anywhere from 6 months to 5 years depending on how strong the hair is. Whilst it shouldn’t be painful, sometimes it can be uncomfortable and a slight reddening of the skin occurs during or immediately after treatment, but this will only last for a short time.
Who is Electrolysis for?
Electrolysis is for anyone who wants to permanently remove hair. Unlike IPL, Electrolysis can permanently remove white hair, red hair and blonde hair, so it’s particularly good for you if your unwanted hair matches these colours.
What is Diathermy?
Diathermy is electrically induced heat or the use of high-frequency electromagnetic currents. It’s a safe, comfortable and highly effective procedure that offers an affordable alternative to other treatment methods. It’s available at Beauty at Ab Fab and performed by an experienced and trained professional, using our Sterex Epilator & Diathermy machine.
By applying a small current just underneath the skin surface by tapping a very fine needle along the affected area, Diathermy works to remove thread veins and skin tags. A single-use, sterile, disposable needle is provided for each diathermy treatment.
Typically, 3 - 6 treatments are required to clear facial veins but even after one treatment of diathermy, there should be a noticeable difference. Whilst it shouldn’t be painful, sometimes it can be uncomfortable and the area may remain red for several hours.

Diathermy is for anyone who would like to safely remove and treat skin tags, thread veins, broken capillaries/red veins (spider veins) on the face and sometimes on the body, depending on depth.
